About VotePoll

A free, independently run tool for making polls, surveys and quizzes and sharing them with a link.

What VotePoll is

VotePoll is an online poll maker you use directly at votepoll.io. You write a question — or a whole survey or quiz — in your browser, share one participant link or QR code, and follow the responses as they arrive. Nobody needs an account to create a poll or to answer one, and there is nothing to install.

People use it to make group decisions, find a meeting time, collect feedback from a team, customers or event guests, and run practice quizzes and tests.

VotePoll is free to use.

Who runs it

VotePoll is a small, independent project run by a private individual in Denmark, who is responsible for the service and for the data described in the privacy policy. It is not part of a larger company. The quickest way to reach us is on the Contact page.

What you can make

  • Six question types — multiple choice, pictures, rating (0–10), ranking, meeting times and text answers. One question, or up to 25 in one poll, optionally split into sections shown page by page.
  • Polls, surveys and quizzes — a Quiz / Test mode adds correct answers, points, a pass mark and a choice of when participants see their score and the answers.
  • Templates — ready-made feedback surveys, a retrospective, quizzes and more, all editable before you create the poll.
  • Sharing — a participant link, a QR code, an optional password and a closing date.
  • Results — live results that you choose to show to everyone, only to people who have responded, or only to yourself, plus a CSV export of every response.
  • An optional free account — keeps all your polls in one dashboard, and lets them stay open longer.

The poll maker, survey maker and quiz maker pages explain each feature, and the guides cover writing good questions and reading the results.

Two kinds of polls

Polls people create. Most polls on VotePoll are made by its users and shared privately: only people with the link can open them, and they are kept out of search engines. The person who made a poll decides its questions and settings and is responsible for its content.

VotePoll’s public polls. A small number of polls are picked by VotePoll, checked and listed on the public polls page, where anyone can vote. Each one explains what is being voted on and how voting works. Their results count the votes people chose to submit on VotePoll — they are not a scientific or representative survey.

Rules, moderation and reporting

The terms set out what polls may and may not contain — for example no illegal content, harassment, or other people’s personal data. VotePoll doesn’t check polls before they are shared. It looks into reports and removes polls, pictures, comments, answers and names that break the terms or the law.

Every poll page has a Report this poll link, and the Contact page lists the addresses for reporting content and for urgent abuse.

Privacy in short

VotePoll uses no analytics. Participants don’t need an account, no IP address is stored with a response, and repeat voting is limited with a random browser cookie rather than by identifying people. The privacy policy and cookie policy have the details.
