1. About VotePoll

VotePoll (votepoll.io) is a free tool for creating and answering polls, surveys and quizzes. It is a small, non-commercial side project run by a private individual in Denmark. By using VotePoll you agree to these terms. They don't limit any rights you have under mandatory consumer law.

To create polls or an account you must be at least 15 years old.

2. No personal or sensitive data

VotePoll is made for opinions, not for collecting information about people. When you create or answer a poll — including titles, questions, options, pictures, answers and comments:

• Don't add personal data beyond a first name or nickname where a poll asks for one. No full names with other details, email addresses, phone numbers, addresses, ID numbers (such as CPR numbers), photos of identifiable people without their permission, or anything else that identifies someone.
• Don't add sensitive data about yourself or anyone else, such as health, religion, political views, sexual orientation or ethnic origin. Anonymous opinion questions on these topics are fine — for example "Which party would you vote for?" without asking who is answering.
• Never ask for passwords, codes, or payment or bank details.

If you need to collect personal data, use a different tool built for that purpose.

3. Acceptable use

Opinions, debate, criticism, satire and political polls are welcome. Do not use VotePoll for:

• anything illegal, or helping someone commit a crime;
• threats, harassment, bullying, hate speech or polls targeting a private person;
• defamation, impersonation, or publishing someone's private information;
• child sexual abuse material, intimate images shared without consent, or sexually explicit content;
• scams, phishing, spam or malware;
• presenting a poll as an official election or vote of an organisation you're not authorised to run;
• attacking or overloading the service, or getting around its limits — for example with bots or tricks to vote many times in a poll that limits votes; or
• content you don't have the rights to, such as other people's photos or logos.

4. Your content

You are responsible for what you post. VotePoll doesn't check or endorse polls or comments, and doesn't claim ownership of them. You allow VotePoll to store and show your content only as needed to run the service.

Poll results only show what was submitted. They are not verified, representative or suitable for official decisions.

Third-party content and trademarks

Names, trademarks, logos, images, game assets and other third-party content remain the property of their respective owners.

If you include third-party content in a poll, you are responsible for making sure you have permission, a licence, or another lawful basis to use it.

The appearance of third-party names, trademarks or content on VotePoll does not mean that VotePoll is affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by the relevant rights holder unless we explicitly say otherwise.

Rights holders can request review or removal of content through the reporting methods listed below.

5. Reporting and removal

If you see something that breaks these terms or the law, email us with the poll link and what's wrong:

Reports are reviewed by a person. We may remove content, polls or accounts that break these terms, in proportion to the problem. Where we can contact you, we'll tell you why and you can reply if you disagree. Where the law requires it, we may share information with the authorities.

6. The service

VotePoll is free and provided as it is, without guaranteed availability. Features can change and the service may be stopped. Polls are deleted under the rules in the Privacy Policy, so keep your own copy of results you need. To the extent permitted by applicable law, VotePoll is not liable for lost data, downtime, user content or decisions based on poll results. This does not limit liability that cannot be limited by law.

7. Changes and law

We may update these terms; the date above shows the latest version. Danish law applies, without removing the protection consumers have under the law of the country where they live.
